Kata® is an AI-based platform developed by VisionHealth to support inhalation therapy. The aim of the Kata® app for patients is to optimise inhaled drug therapy for chronic lung diseases through digital support. Clinical studies show that patients often fail to perform their necessary, regular inhalations correctly due to poor therapy adherence or lack of knowledge. As a result, the prescribed medication does not reach the airways in sufficient doses. The wide variety of inhalation devices increases the training effort for doctors and patients and makes therapy monitoring almost impossible. This problem affects around 250 million people worldwide with chronic respiratory diseases, to whom Kata® could offer much-needed help. Kata® is a proprietary platform application offering an entirely new and unique combination of artificial intelligence and computer animation, and it is one of the first digital applications to be certified as a medical device. A modified Kata® app for clinical studies (Kata® Clinical) combines data and patient management to improve both the participant experience and study results.
