ViViRA. The prescription app for back pain. Therapeutic training at home via app. Vivira Health Lab GmbH is the manufacturer of ViViRA, the digital health application (DiGA) for back pain.
ViViRA is one of the first DiGA in Germany to be permanently listed by the BfArM and the most frequently prescribed DiGA for back pain. A randomised controlled trial (RCT) showed at every measurement point that ViViRA was more effective than physiotherapy (general physiotherapy) in reducing back pain and the use of pain medication. Medical progress checks and final consultations are reimbursed outside the budget per case using billing codes GOP 01472 or GOP 30781. ViViRA is a CE-marked class I medical device in accordance with Medical Device Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (MDR). Patient safety is certified to ISO 13485 and data security to ISO 27001. The ViViRA app offers digital, guideline-compliant exercise therapy to reduce pain, based on the principle of functional training, which can be carried out at home. In the app, patients complete four exercises every day, taking around 15 minutes. The selection of exercises is adjusted daily by a medical algorithm to support progress optimally. In addition to exercise therapy, the app offers a weekly progress check and a monthly movement test.
